URBAN GARDEN

The concept of residential houses in urban areas these days tend to be smaller as the increasingly high prices of land and the increasing consumer demand for housing in urban areas. As a solution, the concept of home is no longer developed horizontally, but more oriented towards the vertical. Therefore, the concept of building homes that complement greeneries also no longer dependent on horizontal pages are available, but tends in a vertical plane including a roof parallel horizontal balcony which has not been used for reforestation. One example of this design innovation applied to CICA family residential and Prima Baskoro in Depok, West Java, designed by Maria Luthfisani, Arch of MLA Design. commonly called Fivie.
Two-storey dwelling house with land area of 300 m2 in this area "green" not only on the front page but also on some vertical plane fasada building, on balconies and roof over the pavilion roof. The concept of living wall also applied to the rear garden and field walls on the second floor that serves as a barrier plot. The idea of this green area starts from the owner wanting to make every room in the house is oriented toward the park. Given the narrowness of the page are available for the park, the desire is manifested by the designers use the concept of living wall and roof garden.

For the living wall, designers use a fabricated module mounted on an iron frame L is attached to the wall structure. Each module measures 40 cm x 40 cm and contains some point hole for the planting and growing medium using conventional systems. Watering is done by semi-automated irrigation system. With the condition does not get direct sunlight, then the selected type of shade resistant plants such as Philodendron species, Scindapsus with accent colors of several types of Bromeliaceae. On the roof garden to a balcony, used specially fabricated modular structures are used for drainage. The advantages of this material is easily applied with the interlocking system, has strong durability and light weight so it does not add to the burden roof. Soil layers that are used in roof coating is only as thick as 20 cm are but a few plants that have the potential to grow big like palms and frangipani disiasati by elevating the surface so it looks graded.
