On small residential lots it is always a delicate balance to both fulfill the owner's program, yet create an appropriately scaled design that does not overwhelm the neighboring residences. Asymmetrical gables at the new second floor addition, that reinforce the hierarchy of rooms within and a shallow front porch allows the house to gently fit within the existing neighborhood context.-rocarch-

A condominium need an architecture that meet of the clients need. Here is the design of modern MacAllen Condominium designed by Office dA. The Office dA is a Boston based architecture and design firm led by principal partners. the firm’s work ranges in scale from furniture to urban design and infrastructure, with a focus on architecture. As a pivotal building in the urban revitalization of South Boston , the MacAllen Building’s design requires a reassessment of conventional residential typologies to produce an innovative building that works within a developer’s financially competitive budget. Occupying a transitional site that mediates between highway off-ramps, an old residential fabric, and an industrial zone, the building negotiates different scales and urban configurations. The design addresses two scales and the different edge conditions of the surrounding context through varied spatial conditions, various ways of reacting to the public sphere, and accompanying material and facade articulations to reinforce the scales of interaction.

On the eastern end, brickwork mirrors that of the residential building fabric, extending the logic of the storefront and pedestrian scale elements on that facade. On the north and south facades, bronzed aluminum panels reflect the industrial neighborhood component and express the structural system organization. Additionally, the Macallen building was designed from the ground up to take advantage of “green” building techniques and materials. It is the first LEED certified building of its type in Boston.

Best Home Design on Italian Architecture Style

italian-design-studio-milano

Located near Cuneo in the north of Italy, Casa G is a great example of what innovation and creativity can bring up for a family home. With a lot of glossy furnishings on the outside including the white lime plaster finished walls or the “absolute black” stone, large glass windows and an amazing 300 sqm living area with contemporary furniture, the four bedrooms home sure looks like a dream home to us. One thing that intrigued us though, was the 4 degrees inclined roof that uses a ventilated structure and Canadian tiles, for the elegant looks it has to offer. hdf
